Sometimes you just have to ask why

Not much has been going on around here lately...well, the term "not much" is relative.  I guess I am so accustomed to the chaos, that it is indeed "normal."  I'm happy that everyone else is on spring break (this mean mom doesn't take a spring break), because then I am not having to haul my half dozen around town.

No adoption news yet.  We're getting a wee bit nervous that time is ticking and we have not been matched yet with another little one.  If you recall, we really need to be matched with a second child before our newest daughter's letter of acceptance (LOA) comes from China in order to travel once to get both girls.

Here are some pictures to show you what has been going on in our "oh so normal" household.

Sometimes you hust have to ask why.  Bob got it in his mind that he was going to teach the triplets how to play "Risk." Here's how that went:

LB just wanted to open all the containers which housed all those neat plastic colored things.

Monkey boy wanted to just chop everything up

Kimi was too involved with Hello Kitty to be bothered with world domination.

Here's some pictures of the triplets having fun with hats and other assorted accessories:

While LB looks like Napoleon (wait, that's my name!)
This is just a silly picture of LB, he looks like a rabbit!

Here is his clown imitation...

And Kimi's old lady imitation (no, those are not my glasses!)

The WTs got a hold of the hose the other day and were mixing mud on the patio...

This kid not only was taking a mud bath in his clothes (though we are grateful that he did keep them on), but was licking the mud off his fingers!!!

MB said he was taking Kimi for a ride on his motorcycle

We had a fire out our way recently and ash was falling from the sky.  The WTs got some all over their hands

Well, until next time..... Catch you later!

Bubble bubble, triplets and trouble

I thought I'd share what the triplets have been up to lately.  They have been thoroughly enjoying being outside with this nice weather.  Here they are being "tow trucks."

Because they're outside so much, they get really really dirty really really often.  They don't mind since the result is "mini-pool" time (aka the bath).  I never really understood why some parents have to bribe their kids with fancy bath toys to get them to take baths.  Our kids have always loved them.  Maybe it's because you can make some cool hair styles in the bath:

Whatever the case, the triplets seem to find a lot of reasons for taking a bath.

This is what happens when you get too close to your bowl of potato soup

This is what happens when you try to "help" your mom cook when she steps out of the kitchen for a moment:

This is what happens when you try to make a slide out of a board and a pool ladder:

You get a bath out of it and then, when Mom steps away to get washcloths, you give the bath soap a little squeeze into the tub.  You get bubbles, lots and lots of bubbles.  And bubbles are lots of fun:

I'd say they are doing their Santa Claus imitation, but they don't know who he is.  Recently, Kimi saw a picture of SC in a book with his flying reindeer and asked, "Who that? Why they flying?"  Then just today, in a video, they saw SC again carrying his bag of toys.  LB asked, "He bring the mail?"  My kids are so deprived.

So, what else have they been up to? Kimi was sick a few weeks ago and stayed home from church with Mom.  As soon as everyone left for church, she stood at the door, slumped her shoulders and said, "I want my _______ (Monkey Boy)."  I took out some paints (which after cleaning up remembered why I don't take them out more often) and that girl painted for three hours!  Here she is with two of her creations:

IMG_0479  Our kids tend to "do sick" a little differently than others.

We have been trying to get LB to stop sucking his fingers as he is developing a bad overbite.  This was his father's solution:

IMG_0490  I made the bad move of having him take them off after nap.  I think before that, it didn't occur to him that he could do it.Subsequently, I caught him, mittens off, using his fingers as a pacifier. Busted!

Monkey Boy (MB) absconded with his dad's pajama bottoms.

Yes, we do have some crazy times around here.  But we also have times like these:

We leave with this funny question of the week:

Kimi: Was I sleeping in your tummy?
Me: No babe, you slept in someone else's tummy.
Kimi: (after thinking for a few seconds) Was I was sleeping in Daddy's tummy????

Storage solutions and canned!

Yes!! Recovery of my camera! I guess it's kind of a relief to be able to say it wasn't in my house after all.  It turns out it was left at a church where my nephew got married in Feb.  Maybe that's not so good as I was sure I brought it home...guess I can't have it both ways!

As you know, our family is set to grow, and we are a little concerned about the issue of space, or lack thereof.  The WTs came up with a great solution...

Want to guess what's in here???

P1050222

Surprise!

P1050223 P1050224 Just to show that they were really in there, they asked D to close them in.

I guess you won't be surprised to see what we found inside this recycling bin...

IMG_0426

You got it, a whole lot of trouble!

IMG_0425

Don't you just love the static?

IMG_0428

I asked this guy what he was reading while in the bin....

IMG_0431 He replied, with enthusiasm, "GIRLS!" IMG_0432
Here's another canned shot IMG_0416

Kimi wasn't in the can, but she experienced her own static after she rubbed her head against her seat.

Here they are with their horsie cans
